Giving Back: What We are Doing with Profits from Our Book
This is a public impact project, and we take that seriously
When you open our book, immediately after our title page you will see a page that says this:
Louise Story has donated and will continue to donate all of her profits from this book to non-profit organizations, and Ebony Reed has donated a share of hers. These non-profits support education, women’s empowerment and journalism, with a strong focus on Black Americans.
Here are some organizations that we are supporting. We will continue updating this page.
Ethical Culture Fieldston School
PowerMizzou Journalism Alumni Scholarship in Memory of Terez Paylor
Prison Journalism Program (see below under “Opportunities for Your Support”)
Terez A. Paylor Scholarship Endowment at Howard University
United WE (Women’s Empowerment)
Opportunities for Your Support
Please note: While most of our donations come from author profits, we also are offering programs where the full proceeds of the book are donated. That means the full $34 paid for the book is donated. If you’d like your full book payment to be donated, please purchase at one of the below opportunities.
The first opportunity:
If you purchase your book at this link between now and June 25, the full proceeds ($34) for the book will be donated to the Prison Journalism Program.
